ABOUT GSA Building Vacancy

This dataset is a list of GSA Owned and Leased Buildings that includes address, usable and rentable square footage as well as other characteristics of the building. This dataset includes the same elements as GSA Buildings, but only includes buildings with vacant space.

Data Element Name

Description

Plain English Definition

Location Code

Code that uniquely identifies a building

User entered unique identifier in inventory system for this building

Facility Code

Code that identifies the facility of a building

Facility is grouping of buildings that are linked in the inventory system. The facility code identifies if building is part of a facility or not. ZZ indicates it is a stand alone building.

Region Code

Code for one of 11 GSA regions the building is located in

GSA region where this building is located

Street Address

Street address for the building

Street Address for the building

Street Address 2

Address line 2 for the building

Address line 2 for the building

City

City for the building location

City where building is located

County

County code for the building location

County where building is located

State Code

State for the building location

State where building is located

Zip Code

Zip code for the building location

Zip code for building

Congressional District Code

Congressional District from subscription service

Identifies the congressional district where the building is located.

Building Status

Building Status Code

Indicates whether building is Active, Closed (no longer in use) Excess (in process of being disposed), Decommissioned ( ready for demolition) or Pending (planned but not ready for occupancy).

FRPC Real Property Type

FRPC Real Property Type Code

Identifies whether location is a building, land only or structure with no space.

Federal Leased Code

Indicates whether the building is a federally owned building or a leased building

Identifies whether building is Owned by GSA or leased from private sector.

Building USF

The actual occupied space by the prospective tenant

Usable space is space available for tenant to occupy. This includes vacant space.

Building RSF

The useable area plus a propositional allocation of the common areas

Rentable is usable space plus common areas like restrooms, lobby, hallways, etc.

Amount of vacant usable space

Indicates whether building has historic significance

ABA Accessibility Indicator

Indicated if building meets ABA accessibility standards
